Most personal auto insurance policies in the state of CA are considered Owner’s policies. These policies typically insure a person for vehicles registered in his or her name that he or she owns and operates. They can also insure additional drivers who are household members so that those persons can operate the owner’s vehicle. In CA, the state’s minimum limits of liability, on a motor vehicle policy, are $15,000 per person /$30,000 per occurrence for Bodily Injury and $5,000 for property damage. Insurance carriers typically offer the comprehensive, collision, uninsured motorist property damage, uninsured motorist bodily injury, rental reimbursement, roadside assistance, etc. A person can also use an owner’s policy to file an SR22 to the DMV.
Proof of insurance coverage is required for vehicle registration and maintain that registration in a valid status. Sanctuary Insurance Services can verify insurance with the vehicle verification department on your behalf.
